6061 Alloy Frame
The 8.9 features a longer top tube and a slacker head angle compared to its predecessor, improving both handling and stability, giving you greater control as you push your limits. A steeper seat angle helps centralise your weight during steep climbs, boosting pedalling efficiency and traction on challenging terrain. With internal cable routing for a sleek appearance and a UDH hanger as standard, the bike is better equipped for easy maintenance and replacement if it takes a hit.
130mm Suspension
The RockShox Psylo Gold RC fork offers 130mm of smooth, air-adjustable travel. Equipped with 35mm stanchions, an Isolator RC Damper, a Debonair air spring, and premium bushings, it delivers high-performance suspension in a value-packed, hassle-free setup. Paired with a custom-tuned RockShox Deluxe Select R+ shock and the MTR's progressive suspension design, this combo ensures excellent grip and support through big hits and drops.
12-Speed Shifting
The Deore 12-speed setup on the 8.9 delivers a noticeable weight reduction compared to lower-spec groupsets. The added 10-tooth cog boosts top speed potential and provides smoother gear transitions for more precise shifting. The rear derailleur ensures quiet, efficient shifting through the 10-51-tooth Deore cassette, maintaining stability and smooth power transfer, especially when tackling tough off-road trails.
Tubeless Tyres
The 8.9 comes fitted with upgraded tubeless versions of the Maxxis Dissector and Rekon tyres. Featuring Maxxis EXO sidewall protection, a tough, cut-resistant layer is added to the sidewalls, offering extra durability on the roughest trails. Along with EXO protection, the tyres' dual rubber compound delivers excellent grip and minimal rolling resistance for a smoother, more controlled ride.
