GT Aggressor
Attack the trail
The GT Aggressor is the perfect hardtail mountain bike if you want to try a little off-roading and tackle bumpy cycle paths and rugged country lanes. Aggressor by name, more aggressive positioning by nature, GT have shunned the usual beginner’s ‘sit up and beg’ positioning. Instead, there’s steep angles, a stretched ride position and room to move about, so you’ll learn weight-shifting skills and be able to tackle climbs better.

Features
Tried, tested and trusted
The Aggressor has a 6061 aluminium frame, with GT’s trademark ‘Triple Triangle’ design that takes the sting out of bumps along with a suspension fork to even out rough terrain. The range features 26” wheels which create a nimble ride and there are also reliable disc brakes on the 1.0 and 2.0 models. Alex wheels have 32 spokes rather than 36 to save weight and GT All Terrain tyres give plenty of grip from the tread pattern.

Rider
Rough and ready
The GT Aggressor may be billed as an ‘entry-level’ bike, but it’s one of the best we’ve seen in this price range. It not only handles well, but it’ll push you further and develop your skills faster. Not just a great introduction to mountain biking, it’ll also get you around town or to work, with prices well within the Cycle to Work threshold and eyelets for racks and mudguards included.

GT technology
What? Aluminum Triple Triangle frame
Why? GT have used their recognisable ‘triple triangle’ design for more than 20 years. Energy is transferred into the top tube rather than the seat tube so you don’t feel bumps as much.
Surefire stopping
What? Disc brakes
Why? Mechanical disc brakes are a great addition, offering precise stopping and performing well in all conditions.
Suspension fork
What? SR Suntour fork
Why? Suspension forks give better front wheel control and take the sting out of bumps on rough ground.
