Specialized Enduro Comp 29 Mountain Bike 2016 - Full Suspension MTB

The 2016 Specialized Enduro Comp 29er is your ticket to all day riding with lots of technical descending. With its large 29er wheels the focus is on rapid descending and technical trail riding, whilst still being able to bound up the climbs efficiently.

The Comp easily eats up gnarly DH trails and is more than capable of uplift days and Alpine DH holidays.

Frame

This Enduro is built with an M5 alloy frame around 29er wheels for its fast rolling characteristics and ability to take on rough sections better.

The angles are fitting of an enduro bike of this calibre with a slack head angle, long wheelbase, short chainstays and a low bottom bracket. The Enduro Comp is naturally stable at speed and when cornering, whilst remaining agile in technical sections.

Suspension

The Enduro is made for taking on the most technically demanding trails you can pedal up to. 160mm front and 155mm rear travel is very long for a 29er. New for 2016 is a Fox Float DPS (dual position system) shock offering improved compression damping settings that work especially well when climbing.

You do still get the RockShox Pike RC fork from last year. This is simply one of the best enduro forks on the market, especially at this price point. It is stiff, plush and pretty lightweight. It’s also the same fork you’ll find on the Enduro Elite and Expert Carbon models.

Specialized’s FSR suspension platform provides fully active suspension performance even while pedalling and braking.

Components

For 2016 the spec has been refined for enduro riding on tough demanding trails. A shorter stem length and wider bars improve steering response and stability when descending. The bars are 30mm wider for 2016, at 780mm. The stem is 15mm shorter at 45mm (small / medium) and 60mm (large).

This year the entry level Enduro has improved its climbing ability with the 11 speed SRAM GX drivetrain combined with a 28t chainring that offers much lower gears for easier climbing.

The addition of a dropper post means the Enduro is trail ready, right out of the box. Specialized's Command post comes with 12 steps of adjustability so you can get the perfect mid height for each trail section.
