Specialized Crosstrail Expert Disc 2016 - Hybrid Sports Bike

Lightweight and resilient the Specialized Crosstrail Expert Disc combines the offroad capabilities of a mountain bike with the speed and efficiency of a road bike to take you wherever you want to go.

Frame and Fork

The lightweight M4 aluminium frame features tubes that are butted and manipulated to save weight without compromising strength. Internal gear cable routing keeps the lines of the bike nice and clean while mounts for a rack and mudguards add to the versatility of the bike.

The Custom SR Suntour NCX fork smooths out the bumps on uneven road surfaces. Featuring an air spring and magnesium lowers this is a lightweight suspension fork. A remote, handlebar mounted lever allows you to lock the fork out for efficiency on smooth terrain.

Comfortable fitness geometry provides an upright riding position that is stable on rough tracks and offers good visibility on urban roads.

Components

The Shimano XT 2x11 speed drivetrain offers slick precise shifting over a wide range of gears. Offering a similar range of gears to a mountain bike (The Expert has a wider range than the Comp) with a double chain ring that provides the same ease of use as a road bike.

Shimano M447 hydraulic disc brakes offer reliable and powerful stopping power in all conditions so that you can control your speed with confidence whatever the weather. Wide road bike tyres feature BlackBelt puncture protection and the high volume adds a little bit of extra cushioning on rough road surfaces.

Body geometry saddle and grips provide comfortable contact points on the Crosstrail Expert to help keep you feeling fresh on long rides as well as short commutes.

Key Features

• Working with our Body Geometry team, we designed a frame that strikes the optimal balance between comfort and efficiency. The M4 Premium Aluminium tubing keeps the bike ultra-light, while the rack, fender, and disc mounts give you an incredibly versatile package.
• Custom air sprung fork features our Multi-Circuit Damping technology to eliminate any "pogo" effect over its 50mm of travel. This means that its hydraulic damped suspension and rebound will effectively smooth out bumpy or rough terrain.
• Braking duties are handled by Shimano BR-M447 hydraulic Disc Brakes to ensure effective, consistent, and reliable power through any kind of terrain or condition.
• The Targa Comp Saddle and XC Contour grips were developed with Body Geometry to increase blood flow and relieve pressure on soft tissue, ultimately resulting in increased comfort over short and long rides alike.
