Frame

The aluminium frame is light, stiff and strong for all round road riding performance. Merida have triple butted the frame. This is a process where excess aluminium is removed from low stress areas on the frame. You get a lighter frame which is just as strong as a non-butted bike.

Extra attention to detail like smooth welds and internal cable routing give the Speeder a slick look. These aren’t features you find on all bikes at this price.

A tapered head tube up front increases stiffness for precision steering - ideal for dodging potholes at speed.

Components

Clad is a Shimano 3x8 speed drivetrain offering a wide range of gears so you can tackle climbs easily and smash it on the flats.

Promax mechanical disc brakes are powerful and offer consistent performance in all conditions. This means on the slickest roads the braking power will be just the same as in the dry.
