Merida Crossway 300 Womens 2015 - Hybrid Sports Bike

For women looking for a versatile all-round hybrid bike, the Merida Crossway 300 is a great choice.  You can take this on-road or off-road in equal measure, and even use it on the daily commute.  It's the versatility of the Crossway which makes it such a popular bike for Merida.

Frame & Fork

The frame is made from the same 6061 aluminium alloy as in the mens models, is double butted to save extra weight and comes with mounts for a rack, mudguards and a kickstand - ideal for commuting.

6061 alloy is strong, light and pretty stiff meaning the 300 will take the wear and tear of daily riding in its stride, whilst providing a comfortable and stable ride.

Matched to the frame is a Suntour NCS-D 63mm travel fork - with lockout.  This fork allows you to take your hybrid on more of an adventure and tackle dirt and gravel paths, and even some light trail riding. The lockout feature allows you to fix the suspension in place as you climb so you're not bobbing up and down - very energy sapping.

The 300 comes with a female friendly low standover height for more confident riding and easy mounting.

Components

Merida spec the Crossway well for its price point (which falls well within Cycle 2 Work thresholds).  Shimano Alivio / Deore-9 derailleurs provide crisp and reliable performance over a wide range of gears.

Tektro Vela hydraulic disc brakes with large 160mm rotors provide excellent stopping power no matter the conditions - ideal for off-roading.
