Despite the initial request mentioning an e-bike, the Marin San Quentin 1 29" is in fact a non-electric hardtail mountain bike, designed for riders who want full control, simplicity and robust trail performance without the added complexity of a motor system.
Born from a blend of dirt jump roots and trail riding demands, the San Quentin 1 offers an aggressive stance with slack angles, long reach and short chainstays—resulting in a ride that feels both playful and planted. The Series 2 6061 aluminium frame is double-butted for strength and weight savings, and internal cable routing keeps things tidy and protected on rough trails.
Up front, the SR Suntour XCM34 Boost fork delivers 130mm of bump-smoothing travel with a coil spring for consistent performance and simple tuning. Boost spacing adds stiffness to the front end for precise handling when the trail gets rough.
The drivetrain features MicroShift’s 1x9 wide-range setup with a clutch-equipped rear mech, providing quiet, chain-secure shifting across an 11–46T cassette. It’s a solid, low-maintenance setup that’s perfect for weekend shredders or new trail riders alike.
Stopping duties are handled by Tektro M275 hydraulic brakes, paired with 180mm rotors front and rear for dependable modulation and braking power even on steeper terrain.
Wide 29” wheels are wrapped in Vee Tire Co Flow Snap 2.6” rubber, offering a grippy, confident ride across everything from loose corners to rock gardens. Marin’s finishing kit includes a 780mm riser bar and a short 45mm stem for enhanced leverage and trail control.
