Frame

Giant have pumped in all their knowledge and experience of frame building into the XTC. It features the same Advanced SL-Grade composite frame that Giant’s World Championship calibre racers use. It is a World Cup XC winner.

Only the highest grade T-800 carbon fibres are used. The resin uses Carbon Nanotube Technology (CNT) which adds strength - 14% increase in impact resistance. Continuous fibre technology uses larger sections of composite so less material is needed to build a strong frame. The fusion process involves handweaving top & downtube fibres. All these features are designed to reduce frame weight and improve strength.

The monocoque construction means less material is needed to achieve the desired ride quality, strength and stiffness.

A precisely engineered rectangular downtube called MegaDrive works alongside the OverDrive 2 steerer and PowerCore bottom bracket for great lateral rigidity.

The OverDrive 2 steerer uses oversized headset bearings and a tapered steerer tube to improve front-end steering precision. An oversized bottom bracket and chainstay area called PowerCore provide a stiffer platform to transfer every watt of power through the pedals.

Internal cable routing and internal seatpost clamp keeps the lines clean. The frame also allows for a choice of 142mm or 135mm thru-axles. This gives you more choice when upgrading wheels.

Suspension

Up front you get a RockShox SID RL fork with 100mm plush travel. This is a lightweight fork with race level performance and PushLoc remote lockout lever.

A 15mm thru-axle and tapered steerer tube combine to make a stiff setup for precision steering on technical terrain.

Components

SRAM’s X01 1X11 speed drivetrain has a wide range of gears with the simplicity and reliability of a one by set up. X01 is a crisp and precise. New SRAM Guide hydraulic disc brakes are powerful and great modulation.

Giant composite wheels with carbon fibre rims are very stiff and lightweight for improved acceleration. 142x12mm Thru-Axle makes for a much stiffer rear wheel assembly.

The ultra-light Giant Contact SLR seatpost is made from a single-piece moulded full-composite construction.  A composite carbon seatpost absorbs trail buzz from travelling up the frame and into your muscles, so you can stay in the saddle for longer.
