Frame

The frame is very good value for money. Giant have over 25 years of experience manufacturing frames and they are well known for their composite frames. Only high grade T-700 carbon fibres were used to build the XTC Advanced 2. The ride is stiff where it needs to be and compliant where it is desired all wrapped up in a package that is super light.

Handmade in Giant’s own factory the monocoque construction (moulded one-piece front triangle, joined to the seat and chainstays) uses less material to achieve the desired ride quality, strength and stiffness.

Megadrive is the name for the precisely engineered rectangular downtube that combines with the OverDrive Steerer and PowerCore bottom bracket for impressive lateral rigidity, so you can fly up the climbs and corner with confidence.

Overdrive 2 uses oversized headset bearings and a tapered steerer tube to give you more precise front-end steering. An oversized PowerCore bottom bracket and chainstay area provide a stiffer platform to transfer every watt of power through the pedals.

Internal cable routing and internal seatpost clamp keeps the lines clean. The frame also allows for a choice of 142mm or 135mm thru-axles. This gives you more choice when upgrading wheels.

Suspension

Fox’s Float Evolution CTD fork with 100mm plush travel and a remote lever is a lightweight and capable package. Fork performance can be adjusted on the fly with 3 compression and rebound settings - Climb, Trail and Descend.

A 15mm thru-axle and tapered steerer tube combine to make a stiff setup for precision steering on technical terrain.

Components

Shimano XT/SLX 2x10 speed drivetrain and Deore brakes are performance at the price point. You have plenty of gears to take on a range of riding conditions. Giant’s own wheels (P-XC2) are smooth rolling and carry their speed well for more confident riding.
