Giant Trance Advanced 2 27.5" Mountain Bike 2016 - Full Suspension MTB

Lightweight and agile the Giant Trance Advanced 27.5 2 is built to go fast on technical trails. Featuring a carbon fibre composite frame that was developed with input from Giant’s pro enduro racers this is a full sus mtb that is perfect for trail centre loops and cross country adventures.

Frame

At the heart of the Trance Advanced 2 is an Advanced-Grade composite frame. Using high performance grade carbon fibres and resin the front triangle is moulded as one continuous piece which increase strength while also reducing weight. The seat and chainstays are constructed from Aluxx SL alloy.

A tapered OverDrive steerer keeps the front end nice and stiff for precise steering while the PowerCore bottom bracket means that more of your power is transferred through to the wheels.

It is great to see such a high spec frame on a bike at this price point and deserves any future component upgrades.

Suspension

140mm of full suspension travel is delivered through the tried and tested Maestro suspension system. This is a fully active system - that works consistently even when pedaling and braking - and is controlled by a Rock Shox Monarch RT rear shock which offers composed performance with adjustable compression and rebound damping.

Up front the Rock Shox Sektor Gold RL is stiff and lightweight with adjustable compression damping (as well as rebound) to match the rear shock.

Components

The Shimano GX 2x10 speed drivetrain offers crisp shifting over a wide range of gears so you can nail the climbs and is fitted with a chain device which makes sure that the chain stays in place when you are pinning it through rough terrain.

SRAM Guide R brakes offer plenty of stopping power with great modulation so that you can control your speed with confidence in all trail conditions. A Giant contact SL dropper post means that you can adjust your saddle height on the fly - great for those technical descents with little rises in the middle.
