Giant Thrive 1 Womens 2015 - Road Bike

The Giant / Liv Thrive 1 is a capable flat bar road bike. You get the speed and agility of a road bike, but with a more comfortable upright position. You can buy the Giant / Liv Thrive 1 through a Cycle to Work scheme if your employer participates

Commuting, fitness training and recreational road cycling; there’s not much the Thrive can’t do.

Frame

All Giant/ Liv bikes go through the Liv 3F design philosophy of Fit, Form, Function so that you feel confident whilst riding and enjoy the ride.

The Thrive was designed by an all female development team.  It has been designed from the ground up to fit the female form. A shorter top tube and head tube when compared to the Giant Rapid (its unisex bigger brother) means you’re not so stretched on the frame.

Key to the ride performance and feel is the Aluxx grade 6061 aluminium alloy frame which has been butted to reduce weight. Aluminium is a superb frame material because of its good stiffness to weight ratio.

Upfront you get a composite carbon fork which helps to soak up road vibrations as you ride. This helps prevent muscle fatigue in your hands and arms.

Components

The Shimano Tiagra 2x10 speed drivetrain offers you a wide range of gear options which makes climbing easier. Hydraulic disc brakes give you all the stopping power you’ll need and work just as well in the wet as in the dry. Disc brakes need less maintenance over time than traditional rim brakes.

Optimised cranks arm lengths, stem length and handlebar width with a women’s specific saddle give you a great fit on the frame. The Giant Connect Flatbar comes with ergonomic grips for added comfort as you ride.

A composite D-Fuse seatpost absorbs road buzz to take the sting out of rough roads for a smoother ride.
