Frame & Fork

The Advanced SL 1 is built around an Advanced SL composite frame. Only pro grade raw carbon fibres and resin formula are used. Carbon Nanotube technology (CNT) strengthens the frame offering 14% more impact resistance over frames without it.

The frame is constructed using Fusion Process. Grafting together the top and seat tubes provides stronger and lighter frame junctions. Continuous fibre technology reduces weight by using larger fibre sheets on the frame, so less pieces are needed.

An integrated D-Fuse seatpost allows Giant’s engineers to design in precise levels of deflection for comfort, whilst keeping weight ultra low. All of these features combine into a frame which is up to 100g lighter and significantly stronger than Giant’s standard composite frames.

Upfront you get an Advanced SL full-composite fork with OverDrive 2 steerer that greatly improves front-end stiffness. Steering precision is precise - ideal on a sportive or fast paced endurance race.

Components

Equipped is a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed groupset with compact cranks and a close ratio cassette with powerful hydraulic disc brakes. Giant’s own SLR 0 wheels are ultra lightweight carbon rims - quick to speed and stiff.

The SL 1 comes with Giant’s chainstay integrated wireless data transmitter - RideSense. This removable transmitter sends wheel speed and cadence information directly to any ANT+ compatible computer.
