Frame & Fork

Key to the ride feel is an Aluxx aluminium frame which is strong, light and stiff for eating up the miles. It’s strong enough to take the daily grind of commuting, and efficient to get you riding faster than ever.

Endurance road geometry with a slightly more upright riding position (taller head tube and shorter top tube) that you find on a pure road bike reduces fatigue on long rides.

Upfront you get a carbon bladed fork. Carbon composite is very light and stiff for improving steering precision - ideal in a sportive ride. Composite also helps to soak up road vibrations that travel up the frame, into your limbs, leaving you less fatigued.

Components

Equipped is a Shimano Claris 8 speed drivetrain with a wide range cassette and compact chainset. This setup gives you all the gears you need to take on the ups, and downs. Quality Giant S-R2 wheels are the same as featured on the higher priced Defy 3 & 2 models and come wrapped in durable 25mm tyres.
