Felt Z85 2016 - Road Bike

The 2016 Felt Z85 is Felt’s most versatile road bike. If you want to take the long way home, explore your local routes or simply escape into the countryside, the Z85 is for you. Ideal for sportive and endurance riding the Felt Z85 is comfortable over long distances and extremely efficient.

The Felt Z series also makes a great commuter steed for lightning-fast, traffic dodging journeys. You can even buy the Z85 road bike through a Cycle to Work scheme.

Frame & Fork

Key to the quality ride feel is the aluminium frame matched with endurance road bike geometry. A slightly more relaxed geometry with a more upright riding position combines comfort and efficiency for long days in the saddle.

At it’s core is a custom butted 6061 frame which is light, stiff and strong for all round performance. Shaving excess material away from the tubes, called butting, reduces weight while hydroformed junctions optimise strength and stiffness. A long wheel base also gives you extra stability, ideal for sportive riding.

Felt have improved stiffness upfront with a tapered head tube for precision steering. This is ideal for navigating urban roads and high-speed cornering during sportive events. The carbon blades also soak up road buzz for a more comfortable ride.

Components

Equipped is a quality Shimano Tiagra 10 speed drivetrain, with a compact chainset. The wide range cassette comes with smooth steps between gears making it easy to find an option for your pedalling speed. Felt’s RSL3 wheels are the same as you find on the higher priced Z5 for excellent value.

Size specific short reach handlebars and crank lengths (as well as stem) gives you the best fit on the frame, regardless of the frame size you choose. These features will keep you in the saddle for longer.
