Cube Stereo 160 HPA Race 27.5 Mountain Bike 2015 - Full Suspension MTB

Frame

Triple butted 7005 aluminium alloy creates a frame which is lightweight, strong and stiff where it needs to be for all -round MTB performance. Triple butting and hydoformed custom tubes shave weight of the frame making the 160 an efficient climber and rapid on smooth flats. Strength and stiffness haven’t been compromised to lower weight making for a confident ride.

Geometry is bang on for enduro riding with a slack 66.5 degree head angle, low bottom bracket height and long wheelbase for stability at speed while cornering.

Stiffness is increased with an X12 bolt through rear axle and tapered steerer tube. The X12 bolt through also allows for quick and easy wheel changes.

Suspension

The Cube 160 comes with a Rock Shox Pike RC fork with 160mm travel. This is one of the best handling trail forks on the market and great to see at this price point. Matched to the Pike is a customized Fox shock setup. The shock is tuned specifically for this bike by Fox themselves.

Key to the 160’s performance is the active 4 bar suspension system which remains active under braking. Chain tension isn’t affected by the suspension so remains active while you’re pedalling. There is also no pedal kickback or pedal induced bob. Sealed cartridge bearings on all pivot points keep everything nice and smooth.

Components

A blend of Shimano XT/SLX components balance performance and value. The 2x10 SLX/XT drivetrain gives you plenty of range to tackle pretty much anything you throw its way. These components are ultra reliable, consistent and capable. The XT Shadow plus rear mech helps to keep your chain in place when the going gets rough.

Powerful Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors are perfectly suited to enduro riding on tricky, technical routes. They have excellent modulation.

The RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper post is regarded as one of the best there is, and just like the Pike fork is great to see clad to a full sus at this price point.
