Cannondale Trail 3 Mountain Bike 2016 - Hardtail MTB

Fast and fun. Featuring a lightweight alloy frame, RockShox suspension fork and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes the Cannondale Trail 3 is a hardtail mountain bike that is ready for adventure.

With a stable and comfortable riding position, thanks to the nimble trail geometry, you can ride rough trail surfaces with confidence.

Lightweight alloy frame

The quality 6061 aluminium frame features smooth welds and butted tubes. Butting is process where excess material is removed from low stress areas to reduce weight without compromising strength.

A compliant rear end takes the sting out of rough trails thanks to the Save Stays. The seat and chainstays feature a flattened profile which offers a little vertical flex while still maintaining horizontal rigidity for efficient pedaling.

RockShox suspension

The RockShox 30 Silver fork offers 100mm of plush suspension travel. Performance through the rough stuff is composed. Rebound damping is adjustable so you can set the fork up to work at its best when the trail gets rowdy. On smooth surfaces the fork can be locked out for efficiency.

Shimano drivetrain

The Shimano Deore/Alivio drivetrain offers slick, reliable shifting over a wide range of gears so that you can take on all the gradients that you’ll find on your off-road loop.

Hydraulic disc brakes

You will be able to control your speed with confidence thanks to the Shimano disc brakes. These are hydraulic discs which offer powerful, consistent and controllable braking performance whether the trails are dry, wet or extremely muddy.

650b wheels

The Trail features 27.5” (650b) wheels which roll much faster over rough ground than the smaller 26” wheels found on traditional MTBs and are a distinct performance advantage. Alex double walled rims are strong and durable while the WTB NineLine tyres feature low profile knobs. Offering grip on loose surfaces they won’t slow you down too much on the road. This opens the Trail 5 up to commuter duties as well as off-road riding.
