Frame & Fork

No expense has been spared with the frame. Cannondale's Hi-MOD carbon frame uses high and ultra high modulus fibres for maximum stiffness and strength. All your power is being transferred efficiently into speed...you can nail it on the Synapse.

Hi-MOD beats pretty much every other bike frame in terms of comfort and performance for endurance riding. At £3,000 less than the top-end Black Synapse, but with the same frame you're getting a good deal.

Comfort. The carbon frame comes with SAVE PLUS technologies in the rear triangle, seatpost, seat tube and fork which all work together to minimise road buzz travelling up into your muscles. Even on the longest rides you'll feel fresh.

A Hi-MOD carbon fork with tapered steerer also helps to soak up road buzz at the same time providing extra front end stiffness and precise turning. This is ideal for fast sportive races.

If you want to upgrade to electronic Di2 Ultegra or Dura Ace the frame is compatible.

Geometry has been optimised for endurance riders with a taller headtube, longer wheelbase and slacker head angle than their SuperSix race bikes. This geometry (called S.E.R.G) blends a racing position with upright comfort for confident handling and comfort on those long days in the saddle.

Components

The main talking point has to be the addition of Shimano RS685 hydraulic disc brakes. 160/140mm rotors provide powerful braking in all conditions. Being able to ride on rougher conditions improves the versatility of the Synapse.

A Shimano Ultegra groupset provides brilliant gearing and braking performance.

Cannondale CZero carbon 20mm clincher rims are light and fast-rolling with good grip for rougher terrain. They're also durable, ideal for regular riding.
