Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Di2 Disc 2015 - Road Bike

If you're looking for an ultra smooth but rapid endurance bike, the Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Di2 Disc is ideal. Equipped with disc brakes this is a machine you can take out in any weather, and on rougher terrain for year round riding.

It's also worth noting, the three top-end Hi-MOD carbon Synapses are not Di2 equipped. If you want electronic shifting then this is your premium option.

Frame & Fork

The frame is very high quality carbon, called BallisTec, which is Cannondale's performance line using intermediate and high modulus fibres. As a result the frame is extremely light, strong and stiff. This is not your average (sluggish) endurance bike.

SAVE PLUS technology in both the frame and fork help to soak up road buzz with slight vertical flex in the rear triangle (horizontal stiffness is maintained), seatpost, fork and seat tube. This makes for a comfortable experience, no matter how long the journey.

Geometry has been optimised for distance riding with a taller headtube, longer wheelbase and slacker head angle than their SuperSix race bikes. This geometry called Synapse Endurance Race Geometry, or S.E.R.G for short, blends a racier position with upright comfort for confident handling and comfort on those long days in the saddle.

A carbon fork with tapered steerer again helps to soak up road buzz, but also provides front end stiffness and precision turning - something just as good on a busy commute as on a rapid distance ride.

Components

This carbon fibre Synapse is equipped is Ultegra Di2 derailleurs and shifters for incredibly precise and reliable performance - every single time. Gear changes are almost instantaneous, in all conditions. This groupset is just one step down from the top-spec Dura Ace, with a negligible weight and performance penalty...but at half the price.

Another bonus, the Ultegra Di2 requires almost no maintenance and will perform exactly the same 6 months down the line, with no adjustment or servicing needed.

Hydraulic disc brakes are a welcome addition too, for all round improved stopping power - no matter the conditions. So, you can ride all year round, on rougher conditions and these brakes will perform strongly. Only compatible with Di2 equipped machines these brakes have cooling fins and bimetallic rotors (aluminium sandwiched between steel) to prevent overheating - aluminium conducts heat much better than steel.
