Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-MOD Dura Ace 2 2015 - Road Bike

Designed to be the perfect blend of of all the key factors of road bike performance; weight, stiffness, strength, compliance, handling and aerodynamics - The Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod Dura Ace is the ultimate road racer.

Using high and ultra high modulus carbon fibres the Hi-Mod frame is extremely rigid where it needs to be - laterally (side to side) and torsionally (twisting). Of course if the frame was rigid all over it would be far too stiff to ride well on normal road surfaces. This is where the compliance comes in. By shaping the tubes and laying up the carbon fibres in specific ways the frame can be made to flex in certain directions but not others.

The compliance in the SuperSix EVO is in the seat and chainstays, which flex vertically, and the fork which is allowed to deflect horizontally while maintaining lateral rigidity. Cannondale call this the Speed Save micro suspension system as it allow the wheels to track over imperfect road conditions improving grip - very useful for high speed cornering - as well as making the ride smoother.

In addition to this the seat tube and post are allowed to deflect slightly which absorbs road vibration leading to a more comfort - and therefore less fatigue - while seated.

Shimano's Dura Ace 22 speed groupset need no introduction as is at the very pinnacle road race gear technology. The mechanical version is featured on this bike which operates with sublime efficiency and precision - without the need to charge batteries.

Shimano's RS81 C24 wheels are alloy with a carbon fibre laminate laid over to increase stiffness and rim depth. These are very durable wheels with good aerodynamic properties.

All this combined with Cannondales legendary pinpoint handling and aggressive riding position make the SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod a thoroughbred race machine which is built to get to the finish line first.
