The 2021 Boardman MTR range of bikes are designed to be the perfect machines for all-round UK trail riding. Our brand new 29er platform with 145mm travel and trail-ready geometry is paired with 140 or 150mm forks and can take on rough and technical trails without being a burden on flatter, flowy sections. Longer reach figures, a slackened 66 degree head angle and custom-tuned, long-stroke RockShox shocks deliver composed handling and supple yet supportive suspension action whilst maintaining agility and pedalling efficiency.

The MTR 8.6 uses the same trail ready geometry as the rest of the range but brings this confidence inspiring platform down to an affordable price for a quality full-suspension bike.

The SR Suntour XCR34 fork gives 140mm of travel via an adjustable air spring with stiff 34mm stanchions and a 110mm boost spaced thru axle ensuring the front wheel stays pointing where you need it to. The rear shock is a RockShox Deluxe Select with our custom-tuned set up controlling 145mm of supple yet supportive travel.

Shimano’s Deore M4100 groupset takes all the technology of its 11 and 12 speed cousins and packages it in a durable 10 speed set of gears with a wide range 11-46t cassette. This gives an easy low gear for long or steep climbs, while allowing good top end speed too. Tektro HD-M285 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors are powerful stoppers with good modulation.

Even at the entry point in our range, we don’t cut corners on components and the high-quality Maxxis Minion DHF and DHRII tubeless ready tyres fitted deliver outstanding grip in loose and steep conditions. With a conversion kit, you can enjoy the increased grip and reduced puncture risk that tubeless offers.
