Its designed for the varying demands of all-mountain riding, which includes long, grinder climbs at low speeds and wide-open descents on rowdy trails. A removable chin bar makes the Super 3R uniquely suited to the all mountain experience. Basically, you get two helmets in one. For long climbs, remove the chin bar and stow it in your pack. And when it's time for more aggressive riding, you can quickly lock it on, no tools required.

For the new Super 3R, we've added the new Float Fit system and dramatically improved the fit and comfort by revising the shape both inside and out. Other trail-specific features include our Goggle Guide Adjustable Visor, a breakaway camera mount and Overbrow Ventilation.

The Super 3R gives you everything you need to own the trail. It’s designed for the ever-changing needs of trail riding with a unique removable chin bar technology that basically gives you two helmets in one. You can remove and carry the chin bar in your pack during long climbs, and then lock it in place for that added boost of confidence on technical terrain. The easy, tool-free installation and removal process takes seconds. The Float Fit system is lighter and more comfortable with a rubber over-moulded dial, plus No-Twist Tri-Glides have been adopted for added ease of adjustment. Other trail-specific features include an adjustable visor, a breakaway camera mount, and Overbrow Ventilation.

The Super 3R includes Mips (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System), which can provide an additional measure of protection in certain impacts. The Bell Super 3R is two mountain bike helmets for the price of one. It’s both a trail MTB helmet and a full-face lid for when the trails get rough. Key to the Bell Super 3R is the unique removable chin bar. Simply unfasten the bar on the ascents and stow it away in your backpack. When you’re at the top, pull the bar out, fasten it to the lid and you’re ready to go.

How to measure

To find the circumference of your head, place a tape measure in the centre of your forehead, wrap it around above your ears and around the back of your head. If there's a slight difference between two different sizes, always go for the tighter size.

Once you know the circumference of your head, select a size with a range that your head size fits within.

As well as an adjustable chin strap the majority of cycling helmets have some form of adjustment for size, usually in the form of a ratchet adjuster to tighten or loosen the headband or replaceable pads of different thicknesses.
