Lightweight alloy frame

Strong and lightweight the 6061 aluminium frame features double butted tubes as well as  Cannondales trademark smooth welds. Butting is process where excess material is removed from low stress areas to reduce weight without compromising strength.

Save Stays in the rear triangle add compliance for improved traction and a smoother ride. The seat and chainstays are flattened to provide some vertical flex (compliance) without compromising horizontal and torsional rigidity. Power transfer is immediate.

RockShox Recon fork

With 32mm stanchions (wider than on the other trail models) offering a stiffer front end the RockShox Recon Gold fork offers precise steering. Featuring a lightweight Solo Air spring the performance is composed over the rough stuff. Rebound damping is adjustable so you can set the fork up for optimal performance.

Shimano XT

The 3x10 speed drivetrain is a mix of Shimano XT and Deore and offers precise, reliable shifting over a wide range of gears so that you can take on all the varied terrain on cross country tracks and trail centre loops.

Shimano Deore hydraulic disk brakes are powerful with great modulation. You can control your speed with confidence whether the trails are fast and dry or wet and slippery.

650b Wheels

The Trail 1 features 27.5” (650b) wheels which roll much quicker over rough ground than the smaller 26” wheels found on traditional MTBs, while still remaining nimble on tight technical sections. These wheels offer a distinct performance advantage. Alex DC 3.0 rims are strong, durable and lightweight while the WTB BeeLine tyres feature low profile tread for fast rolling performance.
