Frame & Fork

At the heart of this bike is a 6066 aluminium alloy frame (the best grade alloy used in the bike industry) which is light, stiff and strong - ideal for all road biking. A tapered head tube adds front end stiffness and steering precision whilst reducing weight a touch.

Merida triple butt the tubes of the frame to make the bike even lighter still. With three wall thicknesses in each tube, they are able to add strength only where it is needed.

Internal cable routing keep the lines clean whilst at the same time protecting your cable from dirt and damage - less maintenance is needed...always a good thing. Smooth welding at the tube joints adds to the slick appearance of the Speeder 200 too.

Components

Shimano Altus shifters and Altus / Tiagra derailleurs provide capable gearing and shifting in all conditions. They're a durable set-up too. Merida Comp rim and Maxxis Detonator tyres keep you rolling smoothly.

This biggest talking point though is the addition of Tektro Vela hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors. These brakes provide consistent and reliable stopping power in all conditions. That means you can easily take this bike off the tarmac and onto different terrain, and ride in Winter.
