The Ride 400 Juliet is Merida's top-end aluminium road bike for women. Whether you're a racer, tourer or a recreational roadie - the Juliet 400 is designed to be comfortable and efficient. ?The frame is very good quality.

Starting with the frame, it is made from 6066 aluminium alloy which is the best grade alloy used in cycle manufacturing. Most manufacturers will use 6061 alloy which has less stiffness to weight ratios - to keep costs low. This light, stiff and strong frame is made even lighter through triple butting.

Merida use three different wall thicknesses for their tubes. It is thick where the frame needs strength, and thin where less stress occurs. Overall, they reduce the weight of the frame whilst keeping the same strength and stiffness for efficient road riding.

Comfort is improved through road buzz absorbing features such as Flex Stay. The chain and seat stays that make up the rear triangle are specifically designed to dampen vibrations travelling up the frame and into the rider. This means on longer rides you feel less muscle fatigue, and have a more enjoyable ride.

Up front Merida also include a full carbon fork (including tapered steerer). This greatly adds to the performance of the Juliet, by improving stiffness, reducing road buzz and sharpening steering precision.
