Merida Ride Juliet 300 Womens 2015 - Road Bike

Merida's female specific ranges are called the Juliet.  These bikes feature the same frames and performance of their male counterparts - just optimized for the female anatomy.  The Ride 300 Juliet is a performance road bike.  It is a ?comfort racer?.

At the heart of the aluminium frame is the 6066 alloy.  There are 3 types of alloy used in bike manufacture (7005, 6061 & 6066), and 6066 is the highest grade.  It has the best stiffness to weight ratio for true road performance. The tubes are triple butted helping to reduce weight further whilst retaining all the strength and stiffness needed for racing.

At this price point you would not expect the Ride 300 Juliet to come with a full carbon fork, including a carbon tapered steerer tube.  This improves front end stiffness greatly for efficient riding.  It also minimises road buzz due to the natural vibration absorbing properties of carbon.  The tapered steerer also improves steering precision - ideal in a club race.

Merida's Ride also comes with Shimano Tiagra shifters and derailleurs which are reliable, tough and light. Merida's own rims and brakes keep the cost low but perform well.  This is a road bike for women looking to experience road racing for the first time.
